I Would like to take this opportunity to thank the teachers, Mohamad and Jose for my daughter, Mary Reiko’s amazing transformation! This is a very significant, “Before & After” story. I encourage all parents, who raised their child to be a ‘Responsible, productive & polite”, citizen in this World, to consider enrolling their child.

Our daughter is a ‘kind & gentile spirit’ raised with morals, integrity and principles any parent would be proud of, unfortunately, her kindness and good nature, made her an ‘easy target’ for those individuals who were NOT raise with similar values. 
 
After a few months of training at the academy, she acquired the ‘confidence & strength’ to be able to stand up for herself, for ‘what is right’ and even to ‘stand up for others’ who were not able to defend themselves!

Armed not with weapons but with the confidence that springs from Self-Respect, Loyalty, Discipline and Honor. She now has the ‘tools’ to better face the ‘challenges’ of this world.

Henry and I have been going to Woodland Hills Kenpo Jiu Jitsu Academy for over a year starting January last year and we come 3 days a week.

We work out together, and it’s really improved our relationship.

We are closer than we were before, and it’s a lot of fun. It’s great to learn with your kid at the same time. Not to mention that we hit each other quite a bit which is good for him and for me ha ha ha so... We’re having a great time here, and we plan to continue for a long time to come. It’s something that we enjoy doing together a lot.

It’s a life changing experience, I’m not like I was a year ago, I was little, and stubby, pathetic, I couldn’t fight for anything…  I was totally defenseless, kids were always picking on me at school, it was like... I don’t know… It was hard.

Now I’m not worried about it. Now my friends show more respect than they did before because now they can’t really pick on me  as much as they did before and I kindda like that.

The academy is one of the only Kenpo Jiu Jitsu education centers, I know of that concentrates as much on the skills of the individual student as they do the attitude, and emotional well being of the student.

My son has gained a great amount of confidence knowing he has physical and mental options when dealing with conflict.  This is a great builder of self esteem!

Two weeks ago one of the instructors spoke to the students  at the end of the class about “the importance of living in the now, he gently used the idea of death as an example. One week later my son’s grandmother passed away. It was beneficial for him to draw from that conversation…

I started studying American Kenpo Karate with Mohamad Tabatabai in 1994. I am one of the older if not oldest students/Instructors at the Studio at 50 + years old.

The Kenpo experience has been great!  Mohamad is an unbelievably fantastic instructor and a good friend to me. I am a police psychologist, and a big proponent of exercise for health, and stress management. Kenpo has been just that for me over the years.

I have made lots of friends at the studio, and enjoy the learning process. American Kenpo Jiu Jitsu is a great martial art form, and I enjoy the constant challenge and learning. Everyone at the Academy helps one another, and we really have a great group of instructors and students that evolved over the years.
